Recycled paper hard surfaces were originally fabricated to be used as skateboard ramps.
Recycled and certified paper can be bound in a non-toxic resin and pressed in a plywood press to form a rock hard durable surface. One product manufacturer, paper stone, utilizes waste pecan shells for it’s binder resin. *make sure its pecan and not cashew nut **
The original use for these materials were for skate board ramps being durable and impermeable to water. Uses include kitchen and vanity countertops, staircase treads and landings, fireplace surrounds and more. Material comes in various thicknesses these materials can be easily bent in a semi circle remaining incredibly stiff and strong. Great for vertical arching seat backs. And works well in a commercial setting.
